Nay Maps, an actor that many will be familiar with due to his role on The Queen, has taken to his social media to announce that his grandfather has passed away.

The celebrity is part of an ever-growing list of Mzansi members who are saying goodbye to their loved ones and spending the beginning of 2021 in mourning.

Nay posted a touching photograph of himself clasping the hands of his mkulu with both men smiling happily.

The actor paired the photo with a heartfelt caption that conveyed just how much the maternal grandfather had meant to his grandson. The grief is compounded as Nay also lost his father in 2020 but wrote that his dad and grandad would be together now.

Part of Nay's caption read:

"I honor and celebrate you. And I will continue to do as you said and to uplift and inspire many through my life. I love u Mkhulu. RIP Mkhulu - Grand Dad"

The star promised to honour his grandfather's legacy and live a life that inspires others.
