AKA is celebrating turning 33 on 28 January and recently decided to treat himself to a birthday gift.
Supa Mega posted a series of photos showing that he'd chosen a stationery set by luxury brand MontBlanc. The gift set AKA chose was a pen and notebook with a Walt Disney theme.
MontBlanc's writing instruments and watches are particularly pricey, and some fans became keyboard detectives to find out how much the rapper had spent on the set.
One fan tweeted at AKA that he would now be signing deals with a R15 000 pen. AKA tweeted back at the online user that the set he had purchased had actually cost him a whopping R62 000:
"@akaworldwide: 62 but agh ... who’s counting."
The increased price of the pen and its accompanying notebook are presumably because of the fact that they come as part of a limited edition, themed-set which MontBlanc created in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company.
AKA actually used his caption to have a bit of fun as he wrote:
"I’m into buying weird things now, no more Mickey Mouse deals. Just a Lil early sumn sumn"
The reference of Mickey Mouse was in relation to the significance of the set he had just purchased, since that was the character the great Walt Disney became famous for.

In previous AKA-related news, Briefly.co.za reported on the rapper saying that his girlfriend would definitely not be appearing in his next music video after a fan had asked about it.
A fan recently took to social media to ask rapper AKA a question about his girlfriend starring in his next music video.
AKA was asked if his bae, Nelli Tembe, would be getting a feature in the music video to his track Finessin'.
If the fan was hoping that the answer to the question about the rapper's girlfriend would be a "yes", then disappointment would have followed because AKA did not answer with that.
AKA seemed to have either thought about the question before and had an answer prepared or was just was not interested in entertaining the idea because he replied with a definitive:
"No chance whatsoever."
There's no telling why AKA doesn't want Nelli appearing in one of his videos, but safe to say he's got pretty strong feelings on the subject.
In previous AKA-related news, Briefly.co.za also reported on when he took his daughter Kairo Forbes to her first proper day of school.
Award-winning rapper AKA took to social media to share a snap of his daughter Kairo as she had her first day at "big school".
Kairo looked super cute in the snap and looked ready to take on the big bad world. AKA's bundle of joy was wearing her hair in neat cornrows and was holding up a peace sign with her fingers as she posed for the picture.
It's no secret that AKA has a good relationship with his daughter Kairo and it was heart-warming to see that he was so proud of her for taking the next steps in her colourful childhood.
A number of social media users commented on the post with a number of reactions. Briefly.co.za compiled a number of comments on the picture. Take a look at them below:
