A video of a Durban woman celebrating her pilgrimage to Mount Kailash has taken on a heartbreaking new meaning. Terricia Govender, 33, from Isipingo Beach, posted a short clip on 20 August 2026 brimming with excitement about her journey. Days later, her family received news that she had gone missing following devastating flash floods in Nepal.
In the video, shared by Isha Sacred Walks on Facebook, Govender is seen outdoors holding a plate of food, speaking with visible joy about her day on the road to Lake Manasarovar, a sacred destination in the Tibet Autonomous Region. She described starting the day with an unexpected encounter with spiritual leader Sadhguru.
“I started off the day seeing Sadhguru,” she said, calling the moment a blessing and adding that she had seen him “up close and personal.”
“I am so grateful and thankful for this opportunity,” Govender said in the clip.

Terricia Govender’s final days on sacred journey
According to reports, Govender began the pilgrimage on 12 August 2026 as part of a group travelling with the Isha Foundation. She turned 33 during the journey, a birthday that her mother, Linda Govender, described as deeply meaningful.
“She just celebrated her birthday with Sadhguru. She felt as if she had met him for the first time on her birthday,” Linda said, according to IOL News.
The floods struck while the group was on the return leg of the trip, at an immigration office near the Nepal border. Govender was among those reported missing in the aftermath.
