A Port Elizabeth man shared a gym video that caught South Africans completely off guard, and for all the right reasons.

Athule Cele, a gym enthusiast from the Eastern Cape, posted the clip on Facebook on 12 August 2026. In it, he encourages a South African Police Service officer to step up and attempt a deadlift. The officer initially held back, reluctant to take the challenge, but after some persuasion, he grabbed the bar and pulled through. Fellow officers stood nearby watching the moment unfold.
