Replying to the publication's tweet, the Bongo Maffin star said the article was not true. She said she doesn't believe in cancel culture. King Tha said:

"This is not true. I don’t believe in cancel culture. I think there are times when repercussions must happen but I believe not in calling out but calling in. It’s my individual way. What I said was a psa (public service announcement) to say these conversations must happen with us in the room & that learning is NB (important)."

Musician Langa Mavuso also said he never called for the cancelling of MacG. The star said:

"None of our tweets called for a cancelling of anyone or their business. it’s important to address serious issues that affect us and many who are disenfranchised. this is sensationalism at it’s best."
