Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, was among the speakers at the first prayer meeting held by the family of Anele ‘Nelli’ Tembe, a day after her untimely passing.

Nelli was engaged to rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes. She died after she allegedly dropped from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town.

News24 reported that on Monday, 12 April, the Tembe and Forbes families got together to pay tribute to Nelli. The prayer meeting took place via Zoom due to the current Covid-19 regulations.

AKA’s father Tony Forbes spoke on behalf of his son. He extended sympathy to the Tembe family.

Recalling how he met Nelli, he described her as respectful and confident. Just two weeks ago, AKA’s family travelled to Durban to meet Nellie’s family for lobola negotiations. Forbes described the Tembes as “welcoming”.
