Simphiwe Dana has had it with Universal Music. She feels like the company wants to own every bit of her being and Simphiwe is not about to let that happen.

It has become so important for artists to own their own music and to maintain some control over what they produce and who they are as musicians. Simphiwe is all for this and refuses to sell her soul for fame.

Taking to social media in a rage, Simphwe made it known that Universal Music wants her to literally hand over everything she has worked for and sis is not going to do that.

“Universal Music wants my blood. Only because I asked them to do right by my contract or let me go. They got scared how much money they spent on my album. They didn’t think how much money I spent myself. I’m am so p*ssed that they think so little of me. It’s on.”

Simphiwe went on to make it clear that record labels take artists for a ride because they think they have the power. Simphiwe wants artists to know that they should have the power, not the label they are signed to.

Simphiwe Dana really hopes fans are happy for her: #GettingMarried

Apologising for her rant, Simphiwe explained that she is just extremely frustrated and this is something she will not tolerate.

“Apologies for all the faux pas. I’m just so p*ssed. And to think it’s black people doing this to me.”

Simphiwe ended her rant by telling Universal Music where to stick it and then pulled poor Cassper Nyovest into the mix because he is pro Universal Music.

“F***, f*** Universal. And to think uRefiloe is posturing for them..”

Briefly News contacted Simphiwe for comment but she did not respond. It seems she has since removed the posts on social media as well.

Briefly News previously reported that Simphiwe Dana has come out about her sexuality and is hoping friends, fans and family will be accepting of her. Coming out is not a simple task, it takes great courage and self-assurance.

Having been previously married to a man, it came as a bit of a surprise when Simphiwe announced she was gay. However, people have been quite accepting and are proud of her for owning who she is.
