Veteran broadcaster Aldrin Sampear is heading back to where it all began. The seasoned journalist and news anchor confirmed he is returning to radio after a nearly three-year break, with his comeback tied to a milestone moment in South African broadcasting history. Sampear took to X to share the news alongside a promotional artwork post, writing:

"After a nearly three-year hiatus, I'm pleased to announce that I'm back behind the mic. Radio. My first love."

Sampear joins SAfm's 90th anniversary broadcast

The return is no ordinary slot. Sampear will co-host The Full Circle alongside Bridget Masinga on SAfm, with the special anniversary broadcast scheduled for 19 August 2026 from 13:00 to 15:00. The appearance forms part of SAfm's 90th Anniversary Celebrations, which have seen a number of veteran presenters return to the station for guest broadcasts.
