Controversial podcaster Slik Talk has ignited fresh debate online after unleashing a scathing video attack on Dr Musa Mthombeni, accusing the celebrity doctor of having no identity outside of his marriage to Liesl Laurie. The clip, posted on Monday, 24 August 2026, quickly went viral across South African social media, drawing fierce reaction from fans who rushed to Musa's defence.

In the selfie-style video, filmed indoors with a framed artwork visible in the background, Slik Talk did not hold back. "Dr Moussa has made his wife his purpose. He has pedestalized Liesl so much that he has no purpose outside of his marriage," he said, arguing that men do not look up to Musa as a relationship role model.

What triggered Slik Talk's rant

The attack did not come out of nowhere. A viral clip from the podcast Loud Wednesdays with Yolanda had recently set social media ablaze after the show's guests held Dr Musa up as the benchmark for what a genuinely loving, husband-material man looks like. The women on the podcast argued that if a man did not show love the way Musa does, he simply was not committed enough. Many men on social media crashed out after the clip spread, and Slik Talk appeared to be responding directly to that debate.

Slik Talk's argument was that displaying open affection and devotion publicly is not something most men respect, and that Musa's priority should be his medical career rather than keeping Liesl happy.
