A video clip of Mlindo the Vocalist refusing to pose for a photo with a fan at what appears to be a petrol station forecourt has set Mzansi talking this Monday, 14 September. The fan filmed the awkward exchange on a smartphone and shared it to TikTok, complete with the caption "I was so heartbroken 💔 Guys😭😭😭😭😭😭," giving the clip a melodramatic, comedic edge that helped it spread fast.
What Happened at the Petrol Station?
In the selfie-style footage, the fan can be heard telling the musician, "You are my best, like I'm your best. Just a minute. You missed me just a minute for a picture." Mlindo's response was blunt: "No, I'm not videoing, I'm just taking myself." Several other people are visible in the background, going about their business on the forecourt.
The clip quickly gained traction on X, with users split firmly between those who felt Mlindo was well within his rights and those who sympathised with the gutted fan.

Mzansi Reacts to the Clip
Not everyone was shocked by the encounter. One commenter recalled a previous run-in with the singer that left a lasting impression.
@Msotraana had a less fond memory: "Years ago, I played Mlindo's album on repeat during a road trip frm Cpt to Jhb. By coincidence, we ended up staying at the same hotel eMidrand. I asked to take a pic with him after he finished smoking, he refused n walked away. That was the day I stopped caring about celebrities."
Others defended the musician outright. @Tems_Eland kept it short: "Mlindo did good. Niyaphapha." @Setlha7 added, "You guys are provoking people though, then you want to come to Social media to defame them. Show your face too." @KamzaMamba agreed: "You guys need to respect people's privacy not everything revolves around y'all and social media."
@wudanese10 had one word for the fan's reaction: "Entitlement 🤮."

One commenter offered a softer take, suggesting shyness rather than arrogance was behind the refusal. @cazdocare wrote: "Broski is actually shy, but acts tough. We have a mutual friend he comes by occassionally when we go out for good and stuff he always remains in the house 😅 animxolele shem."
