Olivier Martinez has broken his silence after a court ruled in his favour in his custody dispute with ex-wife Halle Berry over their son, Maceo.
Rather than speaking directly to reporters, the French actor sent his lawyer to address the press outside what appears to be a courthouse, with microphones from multiple outlets, including ET, capturing the statement. The footage, which has been widely circulated online, shows the legal representative making several pointed declarations about the court's decision.
What the court ordered
Martinez's lawyer confirmed that the ruling prohibits Berry from having overnight visits with Maceo going forward.

"There will be no overnights."
The lawyer stated emphatically, adding that the child:
"is safe in my client's custody."
The attorney also revealed that Berry has been ordered to attend therapy sessions with their son through a practice called Namastean, describing this as being "in the best interest of the minor child."
The lawyer made clear that Martinez's primary motivation has always been his son's welfare. "What I wanted is peace for my son. He has to get through a lot, too much," the statement read, before the attorney added that the justice system had "worked today" to protect the child and help repair the mother-son relationship. Details about specific testimony were withheld, as portions of the proceedings were sealed.

Fans divided over the ruling
The video sparked strong reactions online, with followers split sharply between sympathy for Berry and support for the court's decision.
@mikeyinthemirror questioned Martinez's motives:
"He couldn't wait to use this for 15 minutes. If he really wants to protect the child, why is he discussing it publicly? Why is he not trying to keep it simply a family matter?"
@ewoodmusic drew a pointed comparison:
"Kevin Federline 2.0."
@philly_girl_la_woman offered a more measured read:
"The evidence must be substantial for a Judge to rule no overnight visits."
@christine_fischer42 pushed back against the pile-on:
"I love Halle Berry, but why is everyone coming for him? He never chases fame, and I don't think this is to benefit from Halle. Because she's a beautiful actress, nobody thinks she has faults as a mother? You don't know what goes on behind closed doors."
@eve_saida was blunt:
"Lol, 5 more years to collect that check!!! He better enjoy it while it lasts."
@temperance1145 quipped:
"First time he’s been in front of a camera in 15 years."
