Cape Town Nightclub Denies Claims It's Selling Fake Alcohol and Running Secret Brothel

On Mandela Day, Smeleze Mvalwana, who goes by Bae Keerah, a well-known content creator from Cape Town, was allegedly mistreated at Savage Cognac & Champagne Bar.

The youngster and his friend were allegedly beaten by employees of the establishment, and their mobile device was stolen. They filed a case against the club and informed the owner, Ghost, about the incident.

Two days ago, Keerah shared a video detailing his alleged experience, but he later received threats to take down his content about the club. The youngster refused to do as he was ordered and instead shared information he received from the establishment’s alleged employees.

Savage Cognac & Champagne Bar allegedly a brothel

Friday, 25 July 2025, South Africans learned that a popular nightclub in Cape Town was allegedly running a secret brothel and selling fake alcohol at ridiculously high prices. Bae Keerah claims he heard from employees of Savage Cognac & Champagne Bar that the establishment allegedly has its own alcohol supplier and oftentimes recycles expensive alcohol bottles and fills them up with cheap liquor:

“The receipts are out _savagecpt is a brothel, and they sell fake alcohol, and their employees steal items from their customers.”

Keerah also shared that the club allegedly drugged young girls and put them in bed with foreign men. He claims the ladies are afraid to speak out because they were threatened not to.

The content creator alleged that the boss sleeps with the staff so they can keep their jobs, and he rarely accepts resumes when recruiting new people:

“One of them told me that her CV was not accepted. They just looked at her body and hired her on the spot. That’s when she knew that something was off.”

Savage Cognac & Champagne Bar responds to damning allegations

The club denied the allegations made by the content creator and explained that they have taken the legal route to hopefully resolve the matter:

"This is a very reputable business with more than 40 employees who depend on this business, and it has never been involved in any criminal activities, nor has it ever sold or purchased fake alcohol.
"A case of defamation of character has been opened toward the individual beyond these allegations at Cape Town Central police station, case number CAS 1082/2025, and our lawyers are handling the matter.

"Furthermore, the company which supplies us with alcohol will be filing a lawsuit against the individual."

Youngster shares an exclusive comment about the nightclub

"They didn’t even get back to me, they just went to the police station and told their police friends to threaten me to take down the videos, or I would be charged with defamation, but I didn’t fold.
"So they ended up blocking me, but they have fake accounts watching everything I do, whether I go live on my socials or I post a story.
"They are also going around threatening their former employees who commented on my videos with their experiences, telling them to watch their backs."
