Dr Fourie, known more widely as Dr Dave, was a foundational figure in private healthcare in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. He co-founded the Nelmed Medicross practice and was a driving force behind the establishment of M-Care Nelspruit Hospital, part of the M-Care and NHN group. His work focused on sub-acute care, including inpatient and outpatient neuro-rehabilitation and psychiatric services.

Dr Fourie’s contribution helped shape the Nelspruit facility into a centre of care for patients who needed medium-level rehabilitation and psychiatric support.
