TikTokker Britz kicked off at number five with the Kia Seltos, priced from around R390,000. He praised its premium feel and said Kia "absolutely cooked" with the latest model. Number four went to the Volkswagen T-Cross, starting from roughly R400,000, which he called one of the best all-rounders in the segment after driving it multiple times.

The Chery Tiggo 4 Cross landed at number three, standing out as the most affordable pick at only R280,000. Britz said everything car buyers get for that price is "ridiculous", and that Chery clearly understands what South African consumers want.

Coming in at number two was the Mazda CX-3, from around R440,000. Britz called it his controversial choice, acknowledging the older platform and rising price, but said the build quality and driving experience still make it a standout.

Topping the list was the Toyota Corolla Cross, starting from roughly R425,000. He described it as comfortable, practical, and locally built, with a hybrid option and the full Toyota ownership ecosystem as added advantages. He admitted:

"Is it the most exciting car on this list? Probably not, but if I were spending my own money, the Corolla is probably the one that I'd buy."
