In the generated photo, Kau sported a full denim two-piece with a tucked-in graphic shirt and a high-top fade hairstyle. The bedroom backdrop featured posters of iconic rap group RUN-DMC and the late Michael Jackson, two figures who defined the era's pop culture. It was a convincing throwback aesthetic - except for one small problem.

Kau was born on 18 April 1978, which means he was 11 years old when the decade drew to a close. That detail was not lost on Mzansi, and the trolling began almost immediately after the post went up.

Mzansi calls out David Kau

It wasn't long after that followers and peers ganged up on the Pure Monate star, drawing lighthearted jokes at his age and reminding him that there was no need to create a new image from the 80s, as real ones probably exist.
