A violent hailstorm swept through Waterfall, Hillcrest in KwaZulu-Natal on 27 October 2026, coating a residential garden and pool area in a thick layer of ice in a matter of minutes. The footage, shared by Storm Report SA on Facebook, showed hailstones hammering outdoor furniture and sending the pool water into a frenzy as heavy rain poured down alongside the deluge.

The lawn and patio transformed into a white sheet of ice almost instantly. What made the scene even more striking was the speed of it all. Within minutes, a perfectly ordinary garden had become unrecognisable.
