A young South African woman has left Mzansi absolutely stunned after sharing her boyfriend's wild excuse for cheating in a viral TikTok post.

TikTok user @just.call.meliz uploaded screenshots on 20 June 2025, showing text messages that had social media users questioning everything they thought they knew about relationship excuses.

The post starts with a photo of the young woman taking a selfie in front of her mother, followed by screenshots of shocking text messages from her boyfriend. In the messages, he attempts to justify his unfaithful behaviour by comparing another woman to step stepfamily.

The desperate boyfriend's messages read:

"No baby, she's like a step girl to me, look, you get your family that you love the most, and then you get your step family that's just there, you are like family to me, baby, my main one, she is just a step girl."
