A South African property team is racing against the clock. The duo behind @nongswealth on TikTok set themselves a 60-day challenge to flip a badly neglected house into a modern home designed entirely by artificial intelligence. On 17 August 2026, they shared their day 27 update, and it had followers gripped.
The house was in a sorry state when they started. Walls were poorly maintained, paint was peeling in places, and some floors had no tiles at all. When they first introduced the project on day one, one of the men admitted the smell alone made him question what they had gotten themselves into. Their collaborator used AI to generate an interior design vision of what the finished home could look like, including floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a sleek, contemporary feel.
Followers vote on the colour
By day 27, progress was visible. The team had put a poll to their audience, asking followers to vote on what colour the boundary wall should be painted. The majority vote won, and the wall was painted in a warm beige-grey tone. In the update, one of the men proudly showed how the finished wall closely matched the AI-generated reference images they had been working towards.

The clip also showed a large truck parked outside as rubble and discarded materials were cleared from the property. Inside, plastering and paintwork were still underway across much of the home. A key milestone on the horizon was the installation of oversized foldable glass windows, spanning an entire wall.
Despite the progress, some followers remained sceptical about whether the team could complete the full transformation within the 60-day window.
