South African women entrepreneurs are being invited to put their businesses in the spotlight this Women’s Month, with mobility platform Bolt offering a R50,000 cash grant to one deserving recipient.
The campaign, called Bolt Sees You, recognises women who are building businesses across the country, often with little external support or visibility. Entries close at 23:59 SAST on 18 August 2026.
How to enter Bolt Sees You
Participation is straightforward. Women who use Bolt in South Africa can post a video or series of photographs about their business on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. They must tag @BoltSouthAfrica, include the hashtag #BoltSeesYou, keep the post public throughout the initiative, and submit only one entry. No separate application form is needed.

Bolt will review all eligible submissions and compile a shortlist. The public will then vote for the entrepreneur whose story connects with them most. The woman with the most verified votes by the deadline will receive the R50,000 grant via electronic funds transfer. Her journey will also be documented and shared on Bolt South Africa’s social media platforms.
Women building SA’s economy one business at a time
The initiative shines a light on the wide range of businesses women are running across South Africa, from school transport services and salons to bakeries, crèches, market stalls and online ventures. Many of these businesses sustain entire households yet remain largely unknown outside the communities they serve.

“Behind every small business is a woman who has taken a risk, solved a problem or kept going through circumstances that might have caused someone else to stop,” she said.
“This Women’s Month, we want to recognise that work. While the grant will support one entrepreneur, every story shared will help shine a light on the courage, ingenuity and contribution of women building businesses across South Africa.”
