The South African Police Service has released a photograph of 40-year-old Hlengiwe Goodness Buthelezi, who is wanted for her alleged involvement in the murder of Warrick Stock, known as DJ Warras, on December 16, 2025.

Detectives from the Provincial Investigation Unit for Serious and Violent Crimes are appealing for public assistance in locating Buthelezi, who faces charges of conspiracy and murder.

Speculation arose that Buthelezi is the girlfriend of Victor Majola, the man police have named as the alleged mastermind behind the assassination. During Majola's bail application, which was denied, police revealed that Buthelezi allegedly passed on Warras's personal details, as well as those of his partner, to Majola.

Public questions why police waited this long

The release of Buthelezi's photo has stirred strong reactions on social media, with many users recalling that she had been spotted sitting in the public gallery during earlier bail proceedings. People questioned why law enforcement had not arrested her or placed her under surveillance during that period, given her alleged connection to the case.

SAPS is urging anyone with information about Buthelezi's whereabouts to come forward and assist in locating her.

Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Nengovhela, the lead investigating officer, on 082 967 9362. Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call the Crime Stop toll-free helpline on 08600 10111 or submit a tip through the MySAPS mobile app.
