A 34-year-old foreign national has been arrested in Limpopo after two sable antelopes, collectively valued at approximately R44,000, were unlawfully killed in the province.

South African police acted on a tip-off before descending on a local homestead, where they found game meat stored inside a fridge. The search led officers to a nearby farm, where they discovered the carcasses of the two antelopes. Strips of meat had also been hung in trees, presumably to dry into biltong for easier transportation.

The suspect now faces a string of charges, including poaching, unlawful possession of wild animal meat, and contravention of immigration legislation.
