GAUTENG — The grieving relatives of 38-year-old Elizabeth "Tsontso" Moselakgomo admit they may never overcome the heartache surrounding the violent circumstances of her murder. Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, her cousin Andries Moraka Matlaila shared how deeply painful the tragedy is, emphasizing that coming to terms with their sudden reality feels almost impossible.

According to TimesLIVE, the deceased’s kin formally verified her remains at the Germiston mortuary on 14 September 2026. Moselakgomo vanished on Wednesday while out for a run around Rhodesfield in Kempton Park, and search efforts ended when her body was uncovered on Saturday night.

Matlaila noted that road running was a major passion of hers, remembering her as an energetic road runner. He remembered her as a vibrant person who cherished her relatives deeply and left behind two siblings alongside her daughter.

Matlaila explained that the household remains in total disbelief as they process the grief. Her passing coincides with a grim series of discoveries, as four more women's bodies were discarded across Ekurhuleni recently. Acting Gauteng Police Commissioner Maj-Gen Fred Kekana indicated that three corpses surfaced close to the R21, while another was located in Olifantsfontein. While law enforcement continues working through these cases, Moselakgomo's family is prioritizing remembering her life.
