NORTH WEST — A cyclist in Klerksdorp's Central Business District (CBD) was swallowed whole by a massive pothole along with his bicycle, with the moment captured on CCTV footage that has since gone viral on social media.

The footage, timestamped 5 October 2026 and labelled "Camera 09," was shared on X on 6 October and shows the man cycling on a public pavement before both he and his bicycle vanish into a crater-sized pothole that was filled with water. A bystander rushed in immediately to assist him.
