Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has thanked South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for acknowledging him and his success. The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss has taken to social media to return the favour and said he is truly humbled.
Mosimane is one of the finest coaches ever produced in Mzansi and has yet again clinched a trophy with the Red Devils this past weekend.
After leading the Egyptian side to CAF Champions League glory last year, he has done it again as they bagged the CAF Super Cup, beating RS Berkane last weekend.
Ramaphosa said Mosimane was an outstanding “flag-bearer for our country and for football”. He said:
“His outstanding performance and that of his club shows what is possible when talent moves freely around our continent to unite people from diverse backgrounds and national origin and inspire them to achieve extraordinary things.”
In his response, the former Bafana Bafana striker took to Twitter::
“The President has spoken. Ndo livhuwa @PresidencyZA, @CyrilRamaphosa, for acknowledging my humble contribution in the Continent. I am inspired by your words.”

Briefly News reported that Ahly has added another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet after beating Renaissance Berkane of Morocco 2-0. Pitso Mosimane helped the Egyptian outfit to win the African Super Cup on Friday.
This was the seventh time Al Ahly have hoisted the African Super Cup trophy and with this addition, the team is officially Africa's most successful team.
