Sol Phenduka Reacts to Dineo Ranaka's Fiery Video Calling Him 'Filth'

Dineo Ranaka is not holding back. In an emotionally charged selfie-style video posted outdoors in a garden setting on Friday, 18 September 2026, the South African broadcaster unleashed a scathing attack on Podcast and Chill host Sol Phenduka, referring to him and MacGyver as "filth" and "bottom of the barrel" over their handling of a podcast episode that mocked Elizabeth Moselakgomo.

Moselakgomo, a 38-year-old mother from Kempton Park, disappeared during a routine run in early September 2026. Her body was later found amid growing alarm over gender-based violence in the country. Ranaka was furious that a joke had been made at her expense, and made clear she had no interest in the apologies that followed.

"If the apologising can resuscitate her from the death, then let's take the apology," she said, her voice rising throughout the clip. "She's still dead."

Ranaka takes aim at Ghost Lady too

Ranaka did not stop at Sol Phenduka. She also called out a figure she referred to as "Ghost Lady," accusing her of operating "facelessly" and dismissing any apology from that quarter as hollow. Ranaka described her as "dirty," repeating the word several times for emphasis.

She also broadened her criticism to address what she called a culture of chasing views and ratings at the expense of humanity. "The numbers that matter are the people that are dying in this country," she said, adding that she was speaking from a place of healing rather than pain. "This is the wrath of a healed soul."

Ranaka went further, touching on remarks about women's bodies, mocking of the deceased, and orphaned children, directing her closing words at those defending Phenduka and his co-hosts. After a user flagged the rant to him on X, Phenduka responded briefly. "I saw that," he wrote in reply to @rudymfk, who had asked whether the two were beefing given that they had previously worked together.

Sol Phenduka's acknowledgment trends

Mzansi was divided over the whole situation. @Melo_Malebo challenged Ranaka's logic, writing: "Saying you're not taking Sol's apology if it ain't bringing Tsontso from the dead is crazy bc why make Sol responsible for her death? Also, why press the issue and trigger the family when Sol has already apologised?"

@DrRebrand pointed out what they saw as inconsistency: "She continued to frequent that podcast even after the episode with JubJub. I don't understand why she is SO UPSET."

@gwayiwesintu raised a factual concern about the Ghost Lady accusation: "She was going on about Ghost Lady, and Ghosty was not even present when that episode was recorded."
