Many South Africans have come to the realisation that Deputy President David Mabuza has been quite quiet since he came into the position in 2018. There hasn't been much mention about Mabuza.
Many South Africans were left truly puzzled by when Mabuza's name was recently brought up on social media. A lot of them did not even know who he was, all of them heading to the various comment sections to ask why the Deputy President was trending all of a sudden.

In other Briefly.co.za political news, Dr Xiaomei Harvard was appointed an MP to replace former minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu who tragically passed away due to Covid-19 complications.
When Harvard's appointment was announced there was a massive backlash on social media. Unfortunately, a number of the attacks were xenophobic in nature. ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina released a statement that Xiaomei Harvard has lived in South Africa since 1994 and was married to a South African and has South African citizenship.
