Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has pointed to the defensive work of his midfield partners as the key factor behind his Man of the Match performance in the club's 1-1 Premier Soccer League draw against Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium last weekend.
Ndlovu set up Langelihle Phili's 63rd-minute opener before Cassius Mailula levelled for the visitors, securing a share of the points for the reigning African champions. Despite the result, Ndlovu's contribution earned him individual recognition on the night.

Speaking to Kaizer Chiefs' media department after the match, Ndlovu acknowledged that the collective effort of the squad made his performance possible.
"It was a great effort from the lads, and I am proud of the outcome we got," he said. "Obviously, we wanted all three points, but against the champions of Africa, we'll take the one point and move on to the next game."
The midfielder, who joined Amakhosi from SuperSport United in July 2025, has quickly established himself as a key figure in the club's midfield setup. His assist against Sundowns was his second in consecutive PSL matches, underlining the impact he has made in the early stages of the season.
**Credit Goes to 'Ox' and Lebo**
Ndlovu was eager to redirect praise toward Sibongiseni Mthethwa, known in the squad as "Ox," and Lebogang Maboe. He credited both players with carrying out the defensive responsibilities that allowed him to take up more influential positions higher up the pitch.
"I couldn't have done it alone. Credit goes to everyone involved, particularly my midfield partners, 'Ox' (Mthethwa) and Lebo (Maboe). We all put in a proper shift, and I am grateful to have them alongside me. Either of them would have deserved the award."
Kaizer Chiefs will now shift focus to an away fixture, travelling to KwaZulu-Natal to face Richards Bay at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on the evening of Wednesday, 26 August 2026, as they continue their pursuit of the league title.
