Fresh off one of the biggest nights of his career, Nasty C wasted no time addressing his critics. A clip from the rapper's Twitch stream, reshared on X on 19 August 2026, shows him in high spirits after his independent project Free took home Best Hip Hop Album at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMAs). His celebratory mood quickly turned pointed when the conversation shifted to music executive Nhlamulo "Nota" Baloyi.

Seated in a dimly lit living room with his stream chat rolling in the background, the Durban-born rapper referred to Nota as "Freckle Face" and made it clear that the SAMA win had rendered every negative opinion about Free null and void.

Nasty C's message to Nota

"Freckle Face was going crazy on me, bro, talking smack about the album," Nasty C said on stream. "Now they have to eat that. Now everything they said is invalid, out the window, toss it out. Doesn't matter. Nothing they say is valid." He rounded off the moment with a triumphant list: "My brother, tour, merch, award, album of the year."

The jab carries plenty of weight given the history between the two. Nota has been vocal about his views on Nasty C for years, weighing in on the rapper's musical choices, his use of isiZulu, his tattoos, and what the executive described as a lack of authenticity. Winning a SAMA for an independently released project gave Nasty C the perfect platform to respond without saying much more than he did.

Notably, Nasty C also referenced "that other guy" alongside Nota, but did not name him, leaving fans guessing.
