Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that academy product Xolani Cossa will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Motsepe Foundation Championship club Gomora FC, as the Glamour Boys look to provide the young defender with consistent first-team football.
The announcement was made on Friday, ahead of the start of the Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign. Cossa, 22, is a left-footed centre-back who progressed through the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy at Naturena.
**Cossa Brings Botswana Experience to NFD**
Before this loan move, Cossa spent time at Black Lions FC in Botswana, where he was regarded as one of the standout players at the club. That spell gave the young defender his first taste of competitive senior football, and Chiefs now believe a full season in the National First Division will further accelerate his development.
Gomora FC are coached by former Orlando Pirates full-back Patrick Phungwayo, who has taken charge following the departure of Ashley Makhanya. The club competes in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, which serves as the PSL's second tier.

**Timba Also Joins Gomora from Chiefs**
Cossa will not be the only Chiefs player making the move to the Gauteng-based outfit. Midfielder Sfiso Timba has also joined Gomora FC, giving the club two Naturena-groomed players to work with during the campaign.
In an official statement, Kaizer Chiefs expressed confidence that both players will benefit from the experience. "Cossa joins his teammate Sfiso Timba, who also recently moved to the Gauteng-based side. The pair's presence at Gomora FC will help them gain exposure and give them opportunities to sharpen their skills at a professional level," the club said.
Chiefs added: "The Club remains confident that both players will benefit from their time in the NFD and return to Naturena more mature, well-rounded footballers, ready to contribute to the Glamour Boys' future success."
Both players are expected to return to Kaizer Chiefs at the conclusion of the season, equipped with the playing time and competitive experience the Amakhosi technical team believes they currently need.
