A night that promised good music and energy at one of Johannesburg's popular nightlife venues did not go as planned. Police reportedly brought Xduppy and DJ Maphorisa's set to a halt at Cosmopolitan nightclub over the weekend, cutting short what had been shaping up as a high-energy performance.
Entertainment SA shared footage on Instagram showing the nightclub's blue-lit dancefloor, Pioneer DJ equipment on stage, and a crowd that had gathered for the show. The clip captured the festive atmosphere before the interruption, with the duo performing to a packed room.
Not the first time
According to Entertainment SA, this is not the first time authorities have stepped in on a Scorpion Kings-related event. Police allegedly shut down a separate Scorpion Kings show on 19 September, ending that performance before it could reach its natural conclusion.
