RJ Mitte, the actor who brought Walter "Flynn" White Jr. to life on the acclaimed AMC series Breaking Bad, has died at 34. A county official confirmed to TMZ that Mitte passed away on Monday in Texas, with the publication also reporting on the circumstances of his death.
Mitte featured in 56 episodes of Breaking Bad, the celebrated drama centred on chemistry teacher Walter White's descent into the drug trade following a cancer diagnosis. Outside the series, Mitte also appeared in productions such as The Oak Room, The Recall, and The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!).
Just days before his death, Mitte was a guest on The Joe Vulpis Podcast, where he reflected on how Breaking Bad shaped his career and spoke warmly about the bonds he had maintained with former cast members. Earlier in the month, he had been photographed with his co-star Luis Moncada, the two appearing relaxed and cheerful together on social media.

His representatives released a statement through TMZ, remembering Mitte as "a beloved actor, philanthropist and disability rights advocate."

"RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter 'Flynn' White Jr. on AMC's critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad," the statement read. "Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion."
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child, Mitte channelled his lived experience into his craft and became a fierce advocate for greater representation of disabled people in Hollywood. He served as an ambassador for both United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's organisations. At the time of his death, he was engaged to Kennedy Suarez, having proposed last year after the couple had been together for several years.
