Mining magnate Solomon "Solly" Soka Madibela, widely known as MySol, has secured a court interdict against MacG and North West businessman Benjamin "Benjy" Maponya after a bombshell podcast appearance rocked Mzansi's business world.
MySol's legal representatives served both MacG and Maponya with the order, which bars the Podcast and Chill Network from publishing, broadcasting, streaming, or distributing the contested statements or any allegations linking MySol to criminal activity.
The legal action follows Maponya's decision to end three years of silence on Podcast and Chill. During his interview, which aired on 8 October 2026, the owner of B Maponya Holdings laid out a series of accusations against MySol, his one-time close friend and business associate, centred on claims of corporate betrayal, financial exclusion, and personal manipulation.

The N4 Cluster mining fallout
Maponya alleged that he was the original founder of the N4 Cluster mining operation, a project legally awarded to his company by Samancor for an opencast venture at Buffels West.
After a previous partner was liquidated, he brought MySol on board as a technical partner, describing their bond at the time as brotherly. He claimed that payment irregularities emerged shortly after a joint venture was signed, and that MySol eventually froze his contractual share entirely, seizing full executive control of the operation through MySol Holdings and Logistics.
In a viral Facebook post, Maponya described the personal weight of the fallout.
"I trusted him with my life, not knowing that he would betray me in the worst possible way. We used to share a 2kg chicken portion. I used to borrow him my car. We were like brothers."

Luxury home lost, personal demands alleged
One of the most striking details Maponya shared was the loss of his Hartbeespoort home. He had purchased the property for R2.1 million and was servicing monthly bond instalments of R115,000. When his mining income was cut off following the business fallout, he could no longer meet those payments.
He further alleged that MySol attached personal conditions to any continuation of business payments, reportedly demanding that Maponya relocate to Majakaneng, delete his Facebook account, and leave his wife, claiming she is "not good for him." Maponya also claimed he was barred from accessing Samancor facilities and that, the last time he spoke out, fake police officers were sent to his home. He said publicly voicing these grievances again puts both him and his family at risk.
Mzansi has been split over the allegations, with one camp questioning the credibility of Maponya's claims while another has expressed support for him.
