Pitso Mosimane has addressed former Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos' pointed remarks about agent and club owner influence on squad selection, following his official unveiling as the new national team coach on Tuesday morning at SAFA House.
Broos, who departed the role before Mosimane's return, had been vocal in his criticism of the environment surrounding the national team. The Belgian warned that Bafana would "go five years back in time" under new leadership, citing a culture in which "club owners and agents are calling coaches to influence the selection," adding that he had removed all such interference during his tenure.
Mosimane opts for diplomacy over conflict
Rather than engaging in a public spat with his predecessor, Mosimane took a measured approach. He made clear that personal disputes with Broos were not something he intended to entertain, choosing instead to keep his focus on the technical demands of his new role.
"I will answer the questions related to my job, which is coaching," he said during Tuesday's press briefing.

Mosimane went further, offering generous praise for the groundwork Broos had laid at the national team. He emphasised that his admiration for the former coach's efforts was not a recent development prompted by his appointment, but a view he had held and expressed publicly for some time.
"I think way before I have recognised and praised Hugo Broos for what he's done, I appreciate the work Broos has done and everyone else has done," Mosimane said.
"He has laid very good foundations for us, he has done exceptionally well. I'm not saying it today only, I've said it before. He has put a good foundation for me."
