Orlando Pirates loanee Daniel Msendami is being pursued by Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC, with talks for a January transfer reportedly well underway, FARPost has established.
The 25-year-old winger is understood to be a top target for Scottland as they look to further strengthen their squad. A source close to the club confirmed that negotiations are at an advanced stage, though Msendami's current loan spell at Marumo Gallants is not due to expire until June 2027.
Msendami's Journey to This Point
Msendami previously played for Marumo Gallants after completing a move from Jwaneng Galaxy in 2024, before earning a contract with Orlando Pirates.
His time at the Buccaneers has been marked by limited opportunities, with the abundance of attacking options at the club restricting him to just eight appearances last season — six as a substitute in the Betway Premiership and two off the bench in the Nedbank Cup.

This season, he managed three appearances and scored one goal for Pirates before being sent out on loan to Marumo Gallants.
Zimbabwe's Homecoming Trend
Msendami's potential return would place him among a growing number of Zimbabwean internationals who have opted to re-establish themselves in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. Washington Arubi, Prince Dube and others have already made the move back, drawn by the rapid transformation of the local football landscape in 2026.
Scottland FC have been central to that shift. Backed by significant investment, the club has assembled a squad featuring former Betway Premiership stalwarts including Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona, Terence Dzvukamanja and Walter Musona, making them an increasingly attractive destination for players of regional standing.
The financial improvements have drawn talent not only from Zimbabwe but from across the SADC region, with players from Namibia, Malawi and Eswatini also moving to Zimbabwe in pursuit of better opportunities.
Msendami was recently part of the Zimbabwean national team setup, featuring for the Warriors in their AFCON qualifier matches — a 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone and a 2-1 home defeat to the DRC.
