Relebohile Mofokeng has caught the attention of four major European clubs less than three months after completing his move to Belgian football, with global transfer expert Ekrem Konur reporting that Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Chelsea and Brighton are all monitoring the 21-year-old attacker.

Mofokeng joined Royale Union Saint-Gilloise from Orlando Pirates on 2 July 2026 in what was reported as a record domestic transfer fee of R65.3 million (€3.5 million), signing a four-year contract with an option for a fifth year.

His introduction to European football has been anything but tentative. Mofokeng came off the bench during the Belgian Super Cup final against Club Brugge on 31 July and converted the decisive penalty in the shootout. He followed that up by scoring on his Belgian Pro League debut against K.V.C. Westerlo on 8 August.

Across nine appearances in all competitions, the attacker has registered four goals and one assist. In league football specifically, he has scored three goals and contributed one assist, including a standout showing in a 2-0 victory over Royal Antwerp. He also found the net in Union SG's UEFA Europa League win over Viktoria Plzeň on 17 September, a match his side won 3-0.

Coach David Hubert has spoken publicly about competition for places within the squad, though Mofokeng's early numbers have helped secure him a prominent role in the team's attacking play.

His club performances have carried over into international football. On 30 September, Mofokeng scored twice as Bafana Bafana defeated Eritrea 5-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier held in Cairo. He opened the scoring in the 19th minute before adding a second just before half-time, beating two defenders to finish. Both goals were his first official senior international strikes.

The brace has intensified the spotlight on a player who, just three months ago, was preparing to leave Soweto for a new chapter in Belgium. With four clubs across England, Spain and Italy now reportedly tracking his progress, the challenge facing Mofokeng is sustaining the form that has made him one of the most talked-about young African players in Europe's transfer market.
