Former Springbok captain Victor Matfield is melting hearts after sharing a glimpse into one of fatherhood's biggest milestones. The rugby legend posted photos of his daughter Giselle all dressed up for prom, and his pride was impossible to miss.

Matfield, 49, is a father to three daughters: Jaime, Giselle, and Tasmin, with his wife Monja. It was his second-born, Giselle, who took centre stage on his Instagram feed recently, stunning in a sparkling sequined blue gown ahead of her prom night.
Victor Matfield's proud prom post
Giselle, a Grade 11 learner at Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool in Pretoria, looked every bit the belle of the ball in the photos her dad shared. The petite blonde clearly had her father in his feelings, with Matfield writing,

"How pretty is this beautiful girl of mine!"
The prom post came just days after another sentimental upload from the former Bok skipper, in which he shared a throwback photo alongside his daughters. His caption, "Time flies," said everything a girl-dad could say without needing many words.

A proud girl-dad from the start
Matfield has spoken openly about what it means to raise daughters. In a 2020 appearance on the SA Rugby podcast, he admitted that fatherhood had taken him by surprise in the best possible way.
He is far from alone among his Springbok peers when it comes to the girl-dad experience, joining the likes of Eben Etzebeth, Faf de Klerk, and Bongi Mbonambi in that club.
