British researchers announced Friday they have cured a man who was continually infected with Covid for 411 days by analysing the genetic code of his particular virus to find the right treatment. At the ECCMID conference in April, the team announced the longest-known persistent infection in a man who tested positive for 505 days before his death.

The government of El Salvador, engaged in a controversial "war" on gangs, is destroying the tombstones of gang members to prevent them from becoming shrines, the government said on Thursday. Though their tombstones will be removed, the gang members' remains will be left intact, said the government.
