"They Don't Understand": SA Logan Family Trades Home Life for RV Life in Full-Time Travel Adventure

A South African family is swapping the conventional family home for an RV and open roads. The Logan family, which includes a baby and a young child named TJ, posted a Q&A-style TikTok video on 28 August answering questions from followers about their decision to hit the road full-time.

The couple explained that their choice came down to freedom and timing. With only two children and no land tying them down yet, they saw this as the right window to explore the country. They plan to start with shorter trips while fixing up the RV before committing to longer stretches on the road.

Daily life on the road raised plenty of questions from followers of @africanamericanfam. On cooking, the family confirmed the RV is fully equipped with a stove, oven, sink and fridge, with plans to possibly add a microwave combo unit. For laundry, they intend to use laundromats in towns along the way. The baby will co-sleep with the parents in the king-sized bed, and TJ is welcome to join in too.

For accommodation, the family plans to use a mix of paid campsites, a service called RoamPass that offers discounted and free nights at sites around the country, and free camping spots including beaches and open land. They also joked about attempting quirky overnight challenges, such as sleeping in a McDonald's or mall parking lot. Watch the family answer their followers' questions:
