Dozens of migrants stormed a packed Spanish beach after a speedboat powered straight into the shore in broad daylight. The dramatic arrival happened at Cala del Barco in Cartagena, near the popular La Manga Club resort in Murcia.

The boat, fitted with four outboard engines, reached the cove around 1pm on Wednesday, 19 August 2026. Passengers leapt into the shallow water and waded onto the sand as stunned tourists watched.

Tourists fled the beach in shock

Around 60 people were on board the vessel, according to Spain’s regional government delegation. Officials later confirmed most of the group were Algerian nationals. Many were described as young men in their twenties or younger.

Sunbathers grabbed their belongings and rushed away from the shoreline as the migrants ran past them. Some beachgoers called the police as the scene unfolded. The two men steering the boat did not stick around. They quickly turned the vessel back out to sea and disappeared from view.

The migrants who reached land did not stay on the beach either. They pushed through the crowd and headed toward the nearby town of Atamaría, vanishing into the surrounding area within minutes.

According to reports, Guardia Civil officers arrived at the cove shortly after receiving alerts from people on the beach. They searched the area for those who had come ashore and dispersed into nearby paths and hills.

Footage of the moment quickly spread across social media, showing the boat approaching the cove before people jumped out and ran. The video has since drawn strong reactions from users online.
