There are many people leaving the shores of their countries on a daily basis to study and work abroad. They hope to achieve success in these foreign nations as some of them only leave homes with just a bag and their dreams.

Briefly News presents the top 10 places for expatriates to live in 2021 and South Africa is unfortunately out of the list.

According to Expat Nations, 12 420 ex-pats participated in the Expat Insider survey, representing 174 nationalities and living in 186 countries or territories.

Top ten places for expatriates to live in 2021

1. Taiwan

Taiwan has been ranked as the best place to live and work abroad in 2021. This was based on its cost of living, ease of settling in and overall quality of life, Bloomberg reports.

The majority of the respondents were happy with the quality of care in Taiwan. Expats also reported they were more satisfied with their job security in the Asian country.

2. Mexico

Mexico is trailing Taiwan as the best place to live and work in the diaspora in 2021. The same factor that helped Taiwan also helped Mexico in getting the number two spot on the list.

3. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is the number three best place to live and work abroad.

4. Malaysia

The Southeast Asian country made the number four position on the list.

5. Portugal

Portugal is trailing Malaysia on the list as the findings of the survey earned it the number five spot.

In similar news, Canada is the best country in the world, according to US News. The country has a population of 37.6 million and a GDP of $1.74 trillion.
