At times life can get a little hectic and we tend to let the important things, like family, fall to the way side a little. DJ Zinhle recently decided that it was time to put the brakes on and make a little time for her loved ones.

It is not easy to ‘turn off’ when you are an independent business mogul, mom, artiste and innovator like Zinhle is, but it definitely is important.

Briefly.co.za has seen Zinhle making more and more time for the little things. From vaycays with her co-parenting partner to making smoothies with her mini me, the star is realising the importance of downtime.

This past weekend, Zinhle set time aside to reconnect a little with her roots. She took a trip to her home town, Mdakane, to see her momma, Jabu Jiyane, with her two siblings.

Zinhle spent some real quality time in her home town, going to church with her family and reminding herself of the soil she grew from. It is so important to honour your beginnings as they are what shaped your future.

The beaut made the special trip in honour of her momma. Zinhle’s mom is a whole 70 years old today and she could not be prouder to have been raised by such an inspiring and beautiful woman; she is ‘a blessing.’
