Another singer, Gigi Lamayne weighed in on the subject and shared her thoughts and experiences with her previous record label.

Gigi who was also signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, left the label last December. She thanked the label for their mentorship in a statement afterwards, but on Monday night, revealed to a follower on Twitter that she had lost everything after becoming an independent artist.

“I lost everything. Almost lost my life. Oxygen still in my lungs. I’ll be just fine. Leaving an unhealthy situation will always separate the cowards from the Kings. Pick a box.” Wrote Lamayne.

She added that at the time of her departure, she was “at breaking point” and “super broke”.

“I was at breaking point. Almost lost my life. Super broke. Am I not learning to love ad trust my ability?”

Lamayne said that Emtee’s fans would be the key in any decision and that he will survive though.

“Your supporters are the key in this. Leave! God’s promise is that you will survive!”

But according to TshisaLive, Emtee had not responded to the tweets, calls from their publication and both he and the record label were not available for comment.

A month ago, Briefly.co.za reported that it had been five months since Gigi Lamayne was admitted into hospital for depression. She has expressed some of the emotions she experienced in the days and hours leading up to her breakdown.

It was in November last year that Gigi tweeted her birth date and then added in her death date. This got her fans fearing the worst for her. This South African rapper has on a previous occasion, shared her struggles with depression and again tweeted “The end”.
