Sophie Lichaba, adored and admired SA actress, has bagged herself a role to kick off the new year.

Soon, fans of Lockdown will see her making her debut on the show as Palesa, the head nurse at Kgotsong Asylum, the same place where Monde's sister, Katlego, has been sent.

The fifth season of the wildly loved show will be showing on local screens from 30 January. Briefly.co.za learnt two episodes will be shown per week.

As reported on by TimesLIVE, Sophie's role is bound to give some viewers chills and others nightmares.

In a preview that introduced her character, the actress gave a welcome to a patient in a way that wasn't very warm or reassuring in the least.

Sophie is excited about the role and is very excited to join the cast. According to her, it is one of the few local shows that are really well done.

She loved being part of the show right from the minute she started.

About her character, the actress said she's 'broken'. Palesa is representative of all the women out there who are broken and want to find happiness. The actress added that what fans will see with her character is different.
