The messy fallout between MySol and Benjy Maponya has spilled into the open, with MySol sharing screenshots of their private WhatsApp conversations that paint a picture of broken trust, financial grievances, and explosive ultimatums.

What the WhatsApp chats reveal

According to the leaked messages, Benjy confronted MySol over what he described as a dramatic and unfair reduction in his payouts. He claimed he once received amounts as high as R500,000 but was eventually left with a fraction of that. In the chats, Benjy detailed the personal financial pressure he was under, referencing obligations that included his wife, family, and a R2.1 million home, arguing that MySol had unilaterally changed their original agreed terms.

Benjy also leaned heavily on their personal history, reminding MySol that he had treated him like a younger brother, brought him into key circles, and supported him when others did not. He argued that after helping build the network, he found himself cut out of lucrative opportunities linked to the N4 Cluster and Buffels West mining projects, with deals being renegotiated behind his back.

Threats, defiance and regret

The messages took a sharper turn when Benjy issued a direct warning: if his demands were not met and the original contract terms were not honoured, he would take everything public through social media. That threat, however, did not land the way Benjy may have hoped.

MySol pushed back firmly, stating in the chats that social media pages and public pressure "don't scare" him. He insisted that if a contract was being cancelled, he wanted full clarity and a clean accounting of all financials, with his own interests properly protected.

MySol also expressed significant regret over the entire partnership, saying that entering into business dealings with Holdings had been a major mistake. He accused Benjy of playing his cards recklessly in a bid for attention, writing in the chat:

"Playing my card stupid thinking I'm getting u attention kanta ke senya."

The dispute eventually escalated beyond social media. Following a wave of allegations that circulated on Facebook and on Podcast and Chill with MacG, MySol obtained a court interdict through the Gauteng High Court, placing legal restrictions on Benjy regarding certain claims he could make publicly.
