Communications minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams was under fire on Wednesday as she first batted away allegations of corruption and then had to explain a hilarious blunder.
Ndabeni-Abrahams was the subject of serious scrutiny since allegations of corruption have surfaced.
It was alleged that the minister used taxpayers' money to fund a personal trip for her and her husband to Switzerland.
The claims suggested that the trip formed part of their anniversary celebrations.
However, during an interview with eNCA, Ndabeni-Abrahams seemingly became agitated as anchor Xoli Mngambi probed her on the allegations.
The minister strongly denied ever having been to Switzerland, but just a few seconds later, admitted to travelling to Geneva and New York with her spouse.
The footage indicated that Ndabeni-Abrahams wasn't aware that the city of Geneva forms part of Switzerland.
Since the hilarious clip went viral, TimesLIVE have reported that the minister has tried to clarify her statement.
Her explanation is that she was momentarily confused and meant to say that they'd never been to France.
However, Briefly.co.za gathered that social media users had seen enough and needed no second invitation to slam Ndabeni-Abrahams.

"Stellar had her groove on with taxpayers money, SMH."
Ikwane (@Ikwane) observed a strange coincidence:
"There is one in NY state. As in a town in New York State called Geneva. What are the chances?"
