Presidency: Deputy Minister Boitumelo Moloi hospitalised with Covid-19

Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Boitumelo Moloi has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement released by the Office of the Presidency on Sunday afternoon, it was confirmed that the Deputy Minister has been hospitalised.
"Deputy Minister Moloi remains hospitalised, recovering well and confident that she will overcome the virus. All members of the office of the Deputy Minister who have come in contact with her will undergo self-isolation."
The Presidency seized the opportunity to express its well wished to all citizens currently facing their own battle with the virus:
"We once again extend our well wishes to all persons currently battling with the virus a speedy recovery. In the same vain, we extend our sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones due to Covid-19."
In addition to expressing its support to those affected, the Presidency urged citizens to play their role in limiting the spread of Covid-19:
"Let us all play our part by giving earnest support to those who are fighting this virus. In protecting ourselves, our families and communities, let us continue to observe all health protocols and regularly wash our hands, properly wear our masks and practice physical distancing. Together, we can beat the coronavirus."
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has once again updated South Africans on the latest Covid-19 statistics.
In a statement released by the Department of Health on Saturday evening, Mkhize noted that:
"As of today, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 214 176."
In addition to the latest infections, the Minister also confirmed the recorded fatalities:
"Regrettably, we report a further 399 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 85, Free State 11, Gauteng 69, Kwa-Zulu Natal 96, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 15, Northern Cape 12 and Western Cape 106. This brings the total deaths to 32 824."
