Trevor Noah has once again been nominated in the NAACP Image Awards in the USA. The Daily Show host is nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category alongside Regina King and Tyler Perry.

The South African-born comedian took to Instagram on Thursday, 4 February to share his good news with his 7 million followers. The stand-up comic wrote:

"Such an honour to be nominated along with @thedailyshow team for 4 #naacpimageawards, TY!"

The 52nd NAACP Image Awards will take place on 27 March. The nominees were announced on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon. According to All4Women, Trevor has in the past won two NAACP awards in his own name and a third award went to one of The Daily Show’s writers.

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the 63rd annual Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, 24 November and revealed that the South African Emmy-award winning comedian will host the prestigious awards on 14 March, 2021.

The event was originally scheduled for 31 January but the Recording Academy postponed the ceremony to 14 March.

The Recording Academy is an American learned academy of musicians, producers, recording engineers, and other musical professionals. It is famous for its Grammy Awards, which recognise achievements in the music industry.

Trevor Noah's name has trended high on the micro-blogging app when the Recording Academy made the announcement. Fans of The Daily Show host took to Twitter to congratulate him on bagging the gig.
