Itu Khune Is Back on the Field but Not as Captain of Kaizer Chiefs

- Itumeleng Khune, the goalkeeper of Kaizer Chiefs, has been stripped of the title of captain of the team by coach Gavin Hunt

- Khune has been replaced by the team's defender, Ramahlwe Mpahlele, coach Hunt recently confirmed

- Khune, whose career seems to be taking a bit of a knock, yesterday played his first game for the team after nearly two months off the field

Itumeleng Khune is no longer the captain of Mzansi's Kaizer Chiefs. Khune has been replaced by the team's defender Ramahlwe Mpahlele coach Gavin Hunt confirmed after a disappointing match against KZN's AmaZulu.

Khune seems to be having a bad spell in his career as of late after he played for the first time yesterday in nearly two whole months. The goalkeeper is also said to have lost a big endorsement deal with Danone's Danup.

In the meantime, South African football fans have headed online to share their thoughts about Khune's demotion from captaincy. While many thought it a good idea, others were on the fence about it.

Briefly.co.za earlier reported that o n Wednesday this week, Kaizer Chiefs went head-on against AmaZulu. While the game started off on a good note, it did not end very well for Amakhosi, who were defeated by AmaZulu, who managed to score two goals while Chiefs only secured one ball in the net.

Kaizer Chiefs fans were left super disappointed at the outcome of the match and did not spare and time taking to various social media pages to criticise their favourite team for the way they fared during the match, which took place at the FNB Stadium.
