Mzansi rapper Gigi Lamayne has taken to social media to share that she doesn't feel like people are appreciating her contribution to the hip hop music industry. Gigi is happy to have fans who have supported her but she feels that others can do more. She said:
"One day South African hip hop will respect me and all I’ve put into it since I came on. For now, I’m riding solo with the fans."
Gigi Lamayne came onto the scene a few years ago and was an exciting prospect. Especially since she is a woman, the hip hop game is a lot harder to break into. Gigi impressed and has even won a South African Hip Hop Award for Best Female Artist.
Gigi has been collaborating with different artists in an attempt to get back into her groove but she's feeling discouraged because she feels unappreciated.
Mzansi social media users then took to the comments section of Gigi's post and let her know their thoughts.
@Michaelmike211 commented:
"Have at least 7 features of up-and-coming hustlers. Rappers and singers in your album. You will see the respect will just be born."
@DamianPitcher said:
"Me personally I hope you get it poppin' in the States, we are dying for bars, all we got is Da Baby, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and countless other non-rappers."
@Thapelo1050 commented:
"We got you momma."
