- Natasha Mazzone has slammed claims that she ever said that she was an attorney
- She has repeatedly claimed in the past that her highest academic qualification is a matric
- A Wikipedia article had claimed that was an attorney and had attended university, the entry had since been edited
DA MP Natasha Mazzone has lashed out at critics who claim that she lied about her qualifications. She has in the past claimed that her highest academic qualification is a matric.
However, a Wikipedia article was edited and showed that was an advocate who attended two universities. The entry has since been edited and the advocate removed from her bio.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that can be edited by the public and their information is not always accurate.
Mazzone had written her articles with attorneys but had not written the bar exam.
Back in 2019, Mazzone had tweeted that all she had was a matric:
"I’m also only a matriculant, so no doubt, better qualified than me. A degree does not an intellectual make. You woke up to be lekker, try remember that. Call me a clown, I’ll laugh in your face, because if you fight me on policy, I’ll listen, insults..heard ‘em all, and better!"
Bret Herron took to Twitter when he learned of the Wikipedia entry:
"When @Our_DA inner cabal decided to @MadikizelaBongz they didn’t intend for the to take out some of their own. Now there are qualifications questions being asked about @Natasha9Mazzone, Saldanha Bay Mayor Marius Koen, & whether MEC Simmers once claimed a degree on LinkedIn."
"Y'day I was sent a screen grab & a big❓, of Wiki which said profession "Advocate". I didnt know if she had been admitted as an Advocate & ignored it. I was also sent a Business Tech article & it listed her as having "legal qualifications". This morning both had been edited."
Mazzone has repeatedly stated in the past that she only has a matric but according to News24 she had allegedly claimed to be an attorney to secure a position on Federal Legal Commission.
Earlier. Briefly News reported that Democratic Alliance's (DA) Natasha Mazzone has reshared a Twitter post by the Economic Freedom Fighters' (EFF) Floyd Shivambu. The 2018 tweet by Shivambu refers to Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane as a 'non-protector'.
In a follow-up tweet, Mazzone shared her thoughts on Shivambu's current opinions about Mkhwebane. Shivambu stated that the "white minority always controls the ANC" and shared a picture of Mazzone with John Steenhuisen.
Mazzone called Shivambu out in one of her posts where she asked her followers if they 'see the game' that is being played.
